We Play by the Wall (Originally Untitled) – Written Tuesday 2nd November 2010 (Aged 35)

We Play by the Wall

we play by the wall
left feeling small
it hurts
as hard as it hits
this cycle
leaves us in bits
we do not feel alone
just compiling lists
staging plays
from our greatest hits
and then my sleep
only comes in seizures and fits
so we stood up
and stood by the lamp
left feeling small
we said thanks, but no thanks
and we throw back the ball
how many times
will we get the call?
