Guilt (Originally Untitled) – Written Monday 15th May 2006 (Aged 31)

i take on board the guilt
i take on board the responsibility
and i do feel shame
despite what some people are told
i am not the picture painted
then how could they know
when we have never been acquainted
in a simpler world
constructed to hide guilt
it is simple to blame me
and indicate my own shortfalls
are the reason why
no one can pretend they are blameless
that is the truth which people try to hide
i take on board the guilt
i realise i did not layout the barriers
that most people understand
strangely, as i search my conscience
for some peace of mind
i find the hate campaign
and it just carries on and on
it is the last vestige of dignity
to reflect on where it went wrong
