Learning to be a Social Actor – Written Wednesday 15th April 2020 (Aged 45)

Learning to be a Social Actor

childhood,
is where you are schooled
and you learn –
to be a social actor
it is where,
you are taught or not taught –
the value of fitting in
and importantly, how to do it
i am not a social actor
and my lack of preparation does show
i am on the stage,
but never able to understand the show –
or play my part
remember the lines
or control my heart
yet i have ploughed on
in a field of my own
and when the plough has failed
i try not to be a clone
but the world –
it demands you to be a social actor
and that you now have to take part
and make the part yours
how to climb ladders
learn when to have your say
social actors for good and bad, the things inside
i try and and i try….
