Moments
i had moments
where politics courted my rage
i had moments
where i stood on a stage
i had moments
where ‘girls’ flirted –
attracted to a danger
that did not exist
i had moments
where i stopped looking inwards
because it was such a mess
it felt better to go elsewhere
and be much less self obsessed
i had moments
when i noticed –
areas of my hair turn grey
as if the years –
finally had something to say
i had moments
where my parents flew away
for one final time
and perhaps i always wanted more
like their approval to be mine
i had moments
where writing became a chore
the quality was shocking –
and the meanings were flawed
i had moments
