I Cannot Fight – Written Saturday 3rd April 2004 (Aged 29)

I Cannot Fight

i cannot fight
i will always be james
and all that means –
to others even –
if it means something different to me
i cannot clear the fog
i just cannot make them see
i will always be james
with that half baked childhood
and his, will it take contradictions
i cannot escape
what people think i am
the transition has been invisible
from being a boy to trying to be a man
everything does not have one million reasons
just as we evolve,
there is only one
just we orbit the sun
i cannot fight
how others see me, what good will it do?
