You Were Not There – Written April 2004 (Aged 29)

You Were Not There

you were not there
you were not part of it
you were not there the first time
i heard the music
that changed my life
you have no idea of my dreams
and of my fears
there is no tidal wave
of fortunate tears
there is nothing to save
just a smile to wear
you are pushing me away
but you just cannot see it
yet i feel it, in every movement
in every snide comment

James Garratt – April 2004
