You Had Your Chance – Written May 2004 (Aged 29)

You Had Your Chance

you had your chance
and i am afraid –
you kind of threw it away
i was yours –
but i could not block up all the holes
i feel like a devil –
trying to find a way out
you lost me
when you never really found me
and i just cannot get back –
to where we were
what i have –
is not enough to share
i am not playing this way again
second prize –
and a hand in the bargain bin
you lost me –
when you never really found me
it does not make me feel better
in fact i could not feel worse
you had your chance
and i am afraid
that you kind of threw it away
