This is How Others See Me
i suddenly –
stepped out of myself
and,
onto the boating deck
and,
for a moment
i glimpsed how others saw me
i balanced glibly –
on the mirror –
of polished vanity
and,
as i cleaned the teeth –
of my partially diluted insanity
what person is it now that i see
a barren beach –
of torrid sandcastles
as those waves roll in
and,
i stood there –
on the boating deck
catching moments of me
like multi-coloured flecks
i ran wild,
just for a glimpse of my own vanity
and for a moment i was concerned
about how others saw me
