Intangible – Written Tuesday 7th December 1999 (Aged 24)

Intangible

we try to put into perspective
what simply cannot be
i thought the other day,
and i recalled your voice
the accent so familiar
the words so similar
and missed that touch
if we lived in innocence
then we quickly learnt
i would take your hand
but my fingers are burnt
memories drift on
they become something else
something so intangible
now, sitting here in the cold
it is almost unimageable
did we really live that time
we try to put into perspective
what simply cannot be

James Garratt – Tuesday 7th December 1999
