Goblin – Written May 2009 (Aged 34)

i saw someone’s truth the other day
it danced like a goblin
and it offered me its hand
but i recoiled,
i knew that it wanted me to understand
a victory it could have been
but in truth,
i had already guessed
that there was a fake ceiling –
to her so called dreams
still, the truth sang like a goblin
and again, it offered me its hand
but again i recoiled,
i had enough and now i could understand
the truth knew, just like a goblin
it knew what was true –
and what inside could be very dark
i saw someone’s truth the other day
and i realised,
the hollowness of life
the despair often encamped inside
no home coming bonfires ever lit in their eyes
the truth danced like a goblin
in moments i have been lost and found
i saw somebody’s truth
and as hollow as it is, it did not have a sound
