Wrestle The Lightning – Written Sunday 7th July 2002 (Aged 27)

Wrestle The Lightning

you never stop fighting
you kind of hope you will
but i am still trying to wrestle the lightning
i am still trying to express how i really feel
i was never clever enough to sit back
i always wanted to make it real
you never stop fighting
i am never sure what it is about
why am i here, if i will die too soon
or if we are glad that we came
you never stop fighting
it is all about non descript pain
i do not want to carry on striking out
looking for cheap answers
there is no drug that tells you what it is all about
you never stop fighting
but the greatest inspiration that i ever had
was my own misery and self pity
a time so bad that i never want to relive that reality
you never stop fighting
we are all just trying to keep our sanity
