Needlework and Sums
i had to wonder
what did they teach you
my school report always said
must try harder
and i should not look out of windows
but i have to disagree
i want the children –
to look out of windows
i want them to see the real world
i have to wonder
if those facts and figures
have equipped you for life
i am such a fool
and i have very little tact
but some of the things you say
seem so cold and have no human fact
my school let me down
and then i left town
realising that looking out of windows
probably got me this dumb job
but my imagination is aiming for first place
because the race does not stop
what did they teach them
needlework and sums
well give me storytelling every time
it is so much more fun
