Mixed Up People We Are
i cannot find much comfort
in cold stark reality
but i am well kept
in strange fantasies
i can swim really well in the sea
but i struggle to float
in the waters of reality
i can only find normality in chaos
not in the pleasure of tranquillity
mixed up people i am
mixed up people we are
play with a life as blunt as you like
i will not come to much harm
but if i get caught in your eyes
or take comfort in your arms
i will end up all cut up inside
you tell me why
i cannot find much comfort
in a world where we are born to die
but with you,
i am halfway to a place in the sky
mixed up people we are
mixed up people i am
if i want safety, i run into the road
it is safer than holding your hand
