Waiting For Something to Happen – Written Thursday 17th July 1997 (Aged 22)

Waiting For Something to Happen

waiting for something to happen
i know that’s all I’m doing
i can feel it in everything I do
just waiting around
the suspense is killing me
because I’m no good at being patient
i can’t stand the tension
hanging like softest suspension
waiting for something to happen
is it something or someone?
i’ve been down and out too long
i should be out just having fun
listening for the telephone
i’m counting cracks on the wall
waiting for something to happen
life is quiet at the moment
hasn’t been quiet for a long time
life has always kept me growing
the noise life makes keeps me showing
the now is just in between
as I patiently wait,
waiting for something to happen
