The Fool
a fool tells the world how to live –
from the safety of indoors
a fool criticises the world
a fool pretends to fight for every cause
encamped in a belief
that will corrupt the beat –
of a wounded heart
slowly taking them apart
a fool sits still and never listens
hands attached to ears
new people await and glisten
they remained chained in fear
fighting ugly but the bruises do not show
take away the thin veneer
and its obvious the wounds will not go
a fool tilts at windmills –
they scream and shout
a fool tells the world how they give
whilst actually doing nothing
a fool tells the world how to live
but the fool actually never does anything
