Closing Doors
can’t you see what is happening –
to the world around you
it looks like you are too busy –
protecting your borders
and tending your land –
to take in interest –
in the world around you
you harvest opinions –
from the poorest seed
the joy that you claim
just feels like an aging weed
you close all of your doors
and then you lock yourself in
waiting until the flood comes
and it finally reaches your door
then i you will finally wonder
what was it all for
