You Never Listen
you never listen –
to what is said and spoken
is this because as a child
something was broken
wonder when –
childhood would deliver
a boat full of abuse –
and no love for a sail
to guide you across the river
is that why –
emotions remain not grown
is that why –
self confidence has long since flown
