Long Way Back
there are times –
when it feels like there is a long way back –
from a destination
and the journey is made
but the distance is great
you want to be the person
that you feel you were before
but memories cling to you
that’s for sure
you want to reach into a past but it is not real
it is a hopeful feeling
of feelings that you used to once feel
there are times –
when the damage needs to be repaired
and not an inch of sanity can be spared
so you travel,
and you walk,
as you unravel,
and you talk,
there are times –
when it feels like there is a long way back –
