Not Coping – Written Wednesday 3rd May 2006 (Aged 31)

Not Coping

it went wrong and i did not cope
not as well as I should
as is the way in life,
no matter how big or how clever you are
sometimes,
just sometimes you do not cope
i did try to explain
and i tried to illustrate the roots
the roots of my frustration
as i clung to the stem of the situation
i was not comfortable,
and i did try to explain
and i tried to do it without causing upset
but in the end it was about coping
and i did not cope well
i knew my naivety was on show
but if only you had listened
so many times i explained it to you
i explained why i was struggling
but in the strong tide of inadequacy
it was all washed away,
and a mole became a mountain
i did not cope and i did, i did explain why
