Swim In Tides
I am never interviewed
in a shirt and tie.
I am not missed so much
when people wave,
when they wave goodbye.
And there is something imaginative
and it rolls down my eyes.
But now,
here and now,
I just swim in tides.
I swim in tides,
and injustice
is still something I can’t abide.
My formative years
were planted on a bed of lies,
but a bed of truth
started a coup in later years,
and then
it formed a reliable and viable roof.
But still,
I am never interviewed
in a shirt and tie,
and I always sit back and slouch.
Just me,
eating dreams from the corner of the couch.
My thoughts,
something in which I seem to confide,
as time races on,
I just swim in tides.
