Do We Medicate Trauma?

Do we medicate trauma?
And all our life experience,
does
the social model
decide to sit this one out?
If this is a truly modern world,
then
surely
experience and trauma should be in with a shout.
Do we keep on jumping ships,
like the tigers in the clearning?
What happens
to the damaged individuals
who poured over their damage
as you sat there,
yearning for a little care,
longing, as we all do, just for some safety?
Does the social model
sit this one out?
Do broken brains
listen out for a long‑lost shout,
one that plays a tune on their name?
But perhaps
it is one that is just too close.
What do we ever truly know
as our thoughts
enter the world at a new‑found low?
Do we medicate trauma?
Or is it fair to say, trauma is something we never really know.
