plenty of, ‘keep me warm’
plenty of good times
plenty to to borrow
plenty of this and that

could you be close tonight
just be close, my guardian angel
be close, you portal of light
my guiding sprite
my unseen watcher

and so much history is lost or destroyed
so much myth employed
i read about the nephilim
and about the pale angels
who walked this earth

seven hours a day
with a break at one
dreams delude me with what they say
i am only young
so why do i feel this way

the cupboard under the stairs
well, i searched there
i searched in vain
i went away
but i came back again

well my life is a mess
but what did you expect
i come from a time devoid of respect
a time when you had to avoid –
the things you would least expect

i have cried a well of tears
a well that i cannot wish into
i have a dead sea of tears
and so often it has kept me afloat

part of me needs you
but a bigger part of me
is just scared
part of me is throwing it away
