Time Travel is More Difficult Than I Realised – Written Monday 21st September 2021 (Aged 46)

time travel,
is more difficult then i realised
i never thought time travel –
would be so hard

i often wonder why –
we do not start it all
because life can be a dog
treat is good, it treats you cruel

my thoughts live outside of me
they swill around,
inside my head

i am trying to save our friendship
only because,
i believe it is worth something

who was it –
who gave you advice –
of men
but not of mice

i cannot believe it
a couple of months out of sight
a couple of days and nights
and you want to see me

that is what i say
as i find myself,
caught in something
that continues to sway

i can see her, smiling like we do
leah has been hurt
and she has been hurt bad
sixteen to nineteen, so sad

it’s so easy just to carry on
does it ever end?
could you ever –
ever lend a helping hand
