we want worlds
where the language spoken
is understood,
and it is one that suits us

when she went away
all i wanted to do was grieve
all i wanted to do,
was feel all of my loss

looks difficult
present time,
with traces of lime
ladders,
and mountains to climb

dare i explore,
head out, over the pass
back around,
and towards the coast

here i am about to
or at least close to half a century age
and what have i learned?

i feel disconnected –
from what went before
the past is –
just foreign law
