Promised Lands

totally unwanted
a glitch in their plans
on a trip in life
to promised lands
when it happened
it was just totally unwanted
nothing at all
that time it had happened
last time was a close call
nothing seems to last
as much as rejection
that stretches back
to my childhood past
it sticks in the mind
and never changes track
