They Cannot Hate It – Written Between Tuesday 15th February 1994 and November 1994 (Aged 18/19)

They Cannot Have It

your friend there,
is shivering,
they look scared
smash, grab, take
the scene of the future
a generation on the make
tell your friends, it is dark
tell your friends,
to kick it in the park
i have not got anything –
on my conscience
i do feel okay
i have been good today
i am a little down
but it does not mean –
things will not go my way
does not say yes
does not say no
doing my mind damage
don’t you know
it is all emotional carnage
and an anger with fiery glow
your friend there,
has really lost it
don’t think they ever found it
they cannot hate it
