Inside – Written Thursday 17th November 1994 (Aged 19)

i will be your friend
if you will be mine
we will get along fine
doing so much
passing the time
do not lay by his side
i think you will find
everybody was right
take him to one side
weld his mind
so it sticks to his skull
then you –
find him on his knees
calling you a fool
and as you enter his dreams
you will both know
nothing is what it seems
and as he shrinks to the floor
he looks at you inside
you are not there anymore
something has come alive
just as something died
