Hunger for the Spotlight
if feels like –
a sense of duality
clings to people
they hunger for the spotlight
but they melt,
and turn away from it
it feels fine
nobody knows where they fit
the worlds struggles
as social norms shift
and everyone moves on
if feels like –
everyone wants to be noticed
but,
a sense of contradiction
clings to their brain
childhood hands out certificates
leaving you an expert in pain
so you want to be left alone
but noticed all the same
it is a hunger for the spotlight
that somehow yearns
but there is always an internal fight
and both options severely burn
