Under Siege – Written Wednesday 6th July 2011 (Aged 36)

Under Siege

i feel like my life is under siege –
from people who do not care for me
i see, in the distance –
something better awaits
but others hold onto me
and tie me to their gates
i feel like i will be late
i do not need the –
stresses and strains of others
i would rather be tangled up
in the arms of my lover
this life, well there has to be another
i feel like my life –
is being held captive by strangers
and the terminally inactive
are taking pieces of me
leaving me feeling incomplete
this is shameless snow
i need heat, warmth, something better
something much more complete
