Been Here Before – Written June 1997 (Aged 22)

Been Here Before

been here before
i thought i had closed the door
you know,
just as i left
but it has remained open
so if we can't cry together
and if we can't make it work
then i will hitch up with despair
because they know me best
when it appears,
there is no one else around to care
been here before
and although it is real comfort
we both know there is no way that we can stay
when we first met,
i wondered who created that day
that ironic day
the day that became so important
and it affected me so much
i knew then, i knew then how i felt
