Can’t Save Everything – Written Friday 20th June 1997 (Aged 22)

Can’t Save Everything

can’t save everything
it’s so easy just to carry on
does it ever end?
could you ever –
ever lend a helping hand
if you had been where i have been
you would understand
you would know how i feel
but the insanity we swim in
barely seems that real
but it is, or so it seems
couldn’t help us make it
so i broke it –
better than faking it
when it does not appear to be right –
i don’t like taking it
couldn’t face one more dishonest night
can’t save everything
it is so easy to just carry on
but that leaves me down
i don’t really care –
but does it ever end?
you are a million miles away
and i know you are on the mend
time to look for a better day
and time to find a better friend
