The Vault
some people just don’t know you
but as a point of reference
they need to
to them,
you are just a port in a storm
a midwife
to the newly born
the warm coat
to the sadly shorn
the grateful float
for the child learning to swim
some people just need to believe
it’s like a safe pair of hand
a cradle for the pain
a sponge
to soak up the self guilt and blame
you must learn
to be the bearer of failings
because you are the one with the crowbar
the one who opened up the vault
