Clouds
i get attention,
but the now,
has to compete with the past
and although the now is relevant
somehow it does not last
she kisses me,
but her hopes are no more than clouds
she could never see –
that i am desperate to scream aloud
but the clown always smiles
when slapstick is beyond a joke
and as the now starts to feel vile
reality has a stranglehold or a choke
i get attention,
but the now,
has to compete with my past
and although the now is relevant
somehow it does not last
