As I Left The Room
as i left the room
i turned, just to look back
look back,
on the dreams,
that i had left behind
i looked back,
at the youth
i had once cradled
as i left the room
i turned, just to look back
at all of the personal things
that we had piled up in a stack
i looked back,
on the dreams
which i now lack
the ones that were selfish
but somehow made me go forwards
i know what i have is special
and i am lucky to be adored
but as i left the room,
i realised it is a double edged sword
