Whatever Happens – Written August 2001 (Aged 26)

Whatever Happens

whatever happens,
i am still here
i listen intently
waiting for the cheer
i am moved by sadness
moved by its realness
whatever happens,
i have got myself here
i’ve held onto others
and found their cheer
i’ve travelled on escalators
i’ve walked on ice
it’s hard to give up the fight
but now,
the time is right
whatever happens,
i am still here
a satellite in training
launched to the sound of cheers
a person in waiting
just waiting here
