nuance,
after all is not much fun
it does not get things done
for better to bask in the sun

grandiose –
in their point of view
they felt their intelligence
was a helpful brew

fill up my filing cabinets with hopes and dreams
thoughts,
and things that can never be bought

there is acceptance –
that does come with age
birthday gifts –
that are ready made

after all,
they had this and they had that
and some of them –
played the game with a crooked bat

you gave me such highs
but so often,
just got me down

feels muggy today
i pull open the window blinds
and i think,
what became of the boy?

being exposed?
i feel that every day
the eye of judgement
trained upon me
